Milagre: Portuguese for miracle and Ferly Prado can be considered one after being born healthy by a woman aged 44. She is the youngest of 3 girls, Fabiana (10yrs older) and Fernada (2yrs older). At 3 Ferly began dancing at her mother's academy, Academia De Musica e Ballet Elza Prado, in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Growing up in Brazil, a country whose main religions are Catholicism and Spiritism, she was introduced to the concept of a god, of Jesus, of Saints, of angels, of the spirit world at a very early age. Growing up in a Catholic private school, the more she learned about the Catholic faith, the more unanswered questions she had. My mom had a Spiritist center, and having that close of a connection with spirits never sat right with me. When she moved to the States she moved only with her sister. For the first two years they resided in a ballet boarding school in Washington DC called the Kirov Academy of Ballet. New to the language and the culture, Ferly and her sister felt very alone. Prayer, for some reason, became a major priority for them in order to stay grounded and joyful. Being part of that school was very tough on any kid, both emotionally and physically. After being diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa due to her depression of dealing with the school and its pressures, she felt God opened her eyes to His character for the first time. She felt the words "Are you going to live to impress men, or are you going to live a life where your identity is in me, unchangeable." For the first time she thought of the concept, God or Men. After DC she moved to Orlando Florida where she met some wonderful "normal" kids, one of them named Christine.
Proverbs 30:31 'Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.'
Christine was what you call a woman of God. She was beautiful, she was pure, she had this light about her. Ferly was extremely drawn to that and they became best friends (still to this day). Christine was the first display of a "Christian walk" for her, and she liked it very much. Ferly came to Christ when she moved to Los Angeles. She began learning what it meant to walk on this Earth with a purpose. She learned what it meant to die to yourself. She learned what it meant to be loved by God and allow Him to love her fully. She learned Freedom (physical, emotional, and spiritual). "Once you taste the goodness of God, you're "hooked"." Dance is such a passion of hers that she felt this burden to use it for His glory, not in a church setting necessarily, but anywhere and everywhere.
Hebrews 11:1 'Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.'
What she knows for sure is that God's love is unconditional, there is no 'but' or 'because', "He loves me, Period". There's nothing we as his children can do to change that. Being loved by God, is the best thing any human being could hope for. To know that THE creator of Love loves us is overwhelmingly awesome.
